New Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought

Now this is surely going into my checklist! The new venerable dreadnought from FW will be released soon! Here are some juicy pics from forgeworld. I have plans to purchase this together with the Ultramarines venerable dreadnought, both which will compliment both my astartes army.

Wolves, Avatar and Heavy Armour

I've just finished reading the 1st Space Wolf omnibus by William King and I must say, its a blast! A very enjoyable read, not only about space wolves but a good insight of the 40k universe and a bit on the Thousand Sons, the wolves arch-enemy. William King's writing may be a bit lengthy or repetitive at some parts but that adds flavor to the story and get the reader to really immense into Ragnar's mind. In the midst of fighting the enemies of the imperium, King managed to portray colorful characters of the chapter which sets them apart from the rest of the Astertes. I look forward to reading the 2nd omnibus to add to my resource and knowledge of this great first founding legion. I'm definitely going to start space wolves with Ragnar and bunch of blood claws on the table to draw blood! At this stage, before I can start on my wolves army, I'll be doing lots more research on the codex and coming out with an army list before any purchasing.

Oh, have anyone catch Avatar lately? Despite the
moderate hype before the movie was released, the review came out very positive and prompt me to take a look myself. I must say it was fantastic! It has exceeded my expectation. The story line is good, the sequence and flow is smooth, and the concept art and design is fabulous.

James Cameron has the script for this movie since 1994 but was waiting for the technology to make this possible. He has developed a detail background of the story, the culture of Pandora and lots of behind the plot/scene information. In fact, once this has proven successful, he's planning 2 more sequel. It seems like that is very likely now as Avatar has already received several award nominations.

I can't help relating the battle scene at the end to be similar to how and Imperial Guard army would battle some Eldar Exodite in a Deathworld planet. Watch it in 3D, good stuff!

On the painting table: I'm working on my pair of Vindicators and trying to finish them off before I assemble my dreadnought+drop pod soon. I'm THIS close to completing my space marine inventory! HA!
It's all just armour and support vehicles now. The only thing I have to worry about now is storage for my 3rd army. I'll be posting the completed pictures in my other blog http://ventris-4thcompany.blogspot.com/.

Oh and before I miss the chance to wish y'all , have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A sip from The Cup of Wulfen

HOW IT ALL STARTED: I pick up the copy of White Dwarf when I was at a newsstand just to satisfy my curiosity of these space puppies, and thought this may be a good starting point. I immediately like the feel of the army, with a rather refreshing breakaway order from the codex astartes in many ways.

Not long later, I found myself in a bookshop and bumped into a copy of Space Wolf omnibus. I'm almost at the end of the first book and I'm already hooked to the story of Ragnar. At that point, I've already decided to collect this army in the near future and just picked up a copy of the codex which I've ordered earlier. Somehow I have a good feel in starting this army, unlike all my previous army where I've already have a pre-conceived idea of what I wanted to build, this time with loads of reading material and a well informed fluff, I have some really solid ideas to make a SW army as fluffy as I want to the very last detail. I do not know the previous codex and can't really compare or see any improvement over its predecessor but it is suffice to say that this codex has some really interesting elements to it that makes this a potentially fun army (despite the fact there is no Leman Russ battle tank, in the Primarch Leman Russ army). I love the Saga that has been introduced to the HQ characters which gives them special ability based on their background.

Currently one of my favourite units has to be the Blood Claws, young enthusiastic aspirants eager to prove themselves in the battlefield. At this point, I can imagine building Ragnar's army with many Drop Pods and lots of infantry, charging furiously towards the enemies of the All Father.
